Job Posting: Automation crew leader

As an Automation Crew Leader, you will be responsible for leading a crew in the planning, execution, and oversight of electrical automation projects. You’ll work hands-on with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), sensors, relays, drives, and custom control panels. Your work will ensure high-performance, energy-efficient systems that meet and exceed client expectations.

This is a leadership role ideal for someone with technical experience and a passion for mentoring others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of technicians and apprentices on electrical automation jobs

  • Interpret electrical schematics and control panel layouts to guide installation and service tasks

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial control equipment

  • Troubleshoot system faults and ensure timely resolution to minimize client downtime

  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients on job status and requirements

  • Ensure all work complies with NEC codes, safety regulations, and company standards

  • Maintain accurate documentation and complete job reports for each project

  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within your team

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical or automation systems, including leadership experience

  • Strong understanding of PLC logic, SCADA systems, and industrial automation best practices

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals

  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and time-management abilities

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in field environments

Preferred but not required:

  • Journeyman Electrician License in Oklahoma

  • Experience in oilfield or industrial electrical automation

  • Knowledge of specific platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Ignition
